In the Kamfinsa Mobile Unit Grounds in Kitwe, the Zambia School Sports Association (ZASSA) staged its inter-Zone Athletics and Chess Competition with a specific focus on including students with special needs.
And in the competition designed to encourage athletics in schools, Mama Monty Zone took first place, followed by Kamitondo.
At the Copperbelt Inter District Championship in Chililabombwe, Kitwe will be represented by athletes from the winning Zones selected from various sports disciplines.
Henry Mabona, the ZASSA Kitwe District Chairperson, is pleased that the event is cultivating and fostering sports potential at the provincial and national levels.
RICHARD KATEYA, the sports coordinator for the Kitwe District Head Teachers Association, also spoke at the same event and applauded ZASSA for working with students who have disabilities.
