Major General TOPLY LUBAYA, Zambia’s ambassador to Egypt, has urged the men’s under-20 football team to win the AFCON championship in 2023 and represent their nation with pride.
LUBAYA has subsequently urged the players to work hard, claiming that football unites the Zambian people.
When the Zambian mission in Egypt met the team, the ambassador said this through Counsellor for Tourism at the Embassy JESSIE SIMUKOKO.
Additionally, the delegation’s leader COLLINS MUKWALA commended the mission for caring for the team’s well-being while they were in Egypt and said that they had adjusted well since they arrived on February 10.
The nation of Zambia has been reassured by U-20 Coach CHISI MBEWE that the team will perform admirably in every match.
The team will work to make the country proud, the captain RICKSON NG’AMBI said in his vote of gratitude.
The team is now located in Ismailia but will move to Alexandria on Saturday to set up shop for the competition, which gets underway on February 19th, 2023.
