A 48-year-old man from the Eastern Province’s Vubwi region was found guilty of defiling two children, ages 8 and 6, and was given a 45-year prison sentence with hard labor.
DAISON MWALE, who had been brought before resident judge MERCY MAKUBALO of the Chipata High Court, was there to receive a sentence.
MWALE was given a concurrent 45-year sentence by Judge MAKUBALO for each of the two offences.
The crime was done by MWALE on February 8, 2022, and one of the victims was his stepgrandchild, according to the facts.
The two minors were warned by MWALE that they would be whipped if they told anyone about the situation.
Additionally, he pledged to buy them refreshments.
Judge MAKUBALO expressed concern about the large number of sexual offenses in his ruling.
