SYLVIA MASEBO, the minister of health, has tasked stakeholders and medical organizations with increasing public awareness of ear and hearing health issues.
People should take a serious interest in becoming trained as audiologist technicians, according to Ms. MASEBO.
She claimed that the government remained dedicated to implementing long-term plans for constructing health infrastructure and supplying the general population with high-quality healthcare services, including audiology treatments.
The World Hearing Day celebration in Lusaka, with the theme “Ear and hearing care for all,” featured this statement from Ms. MASEBO.
CHRISTIAN BLIND Mission Country Director, LINDA KASONKA, stated during the same ceremony that the organization supports ear and hearing care in Zambia, particularly for children and individuals with disabilities.
Moreover, FRIDAH PHIRI, executive director of Beit Cure Children’s Hospital, gave the government the assurance that support will continue for the facility’s many medical services.
MATSHIDISO MORT, Regional Director of Africa for the World Health Organization, has meantime urged African governments to give ear and hearing care initiatives top priority.
