No medications were taken, according to SYLVIA MASEBO, minister of health, during the theft at a facility where the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency – ZAMMSA had kept its supplies.
Ms. MASEBO has stated that the items taken from a secure government facility were thermography CT scanner accessories and other dentistry equipment.
She claims that no one has been arrested and that the case is still being investigated.
This was said by the Minister during her ministerial statement this afternoon in Parliament.
The declaration was made in response to an issue of urgent public significance brought up by FRANCIS KAPYANGA, a member of parliament for Mpika Central, about reportedly stolen medical supplies and medications worth millions of Kwacha.
