According to THE Food Reserve Agency FRA, there are currently no plans for price increases on mealie meal in the near future.
Because the Agency has sold enough corn to millers and dealers on the market, FRA Chief Executive Officer CHOLA KAFWABULULA makes this statement.
Dr. Chola KAFWABULULA highlighted that during the 2022 market season, FRA sold 401,000 metric tons of maize to millers throughout the county for a total of 1.6 billion Kwacha.
He claims that 194,000 metric tons of corn worth 776 million Kwacha had also been sold to dealers.
In an interview with ZNBC news, he stated that 65,600 metric tons of corn worth 262 million Kwacha were exported.
