JACK MWIIMBU, the minister of home affairs and internal security, declared that police in Lusaka have increased motorized and foot patrols to safeguard students.
After allegations of kidnappings and deaths of school-age children in the previous 10 days, Mr. MWIIMBU claims that police have also used community policing techniques to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
Addressing at a news conference in Lusaka this afternoon, Mr. MWIIMBU also disclosed that a police and RTSA operation will soon remove vehicles with fraudulent license plates from the road.
According to Mr. MWIIMBU, the administration is willing to have a talk if the Patriotic Front (PF) has concerns rather than hold demonstrations while the US Vice President is in the nation.
He asserted that there is no justification for any protests because the United States is Zambia’s top donor in the health sector.
The protests, according to Mr. MWIIMBU, are not in the best interests of the country.
