Team Copperbelt won the Interprovincial Athletics and Chess Competition held by the Zambia School Sports Association.
Southern Province took an early lead in the three-day competition at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, endangering Team Copperbelt’s tranquility.
As the competition went on, Lusaka, Central, and Eastern all showed themselves to be legitimate title challengers, but Team Copperbelt held firm and would not relinquish the trophy they had held since 2017.
DOUGLAS SIAKALIMA, the minister of education, is pleased that a national squad has now been established to represent the nation in the COSASSA Athletics and Chess Competition, which Zambia will host at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
