At the Kamitondo mixed school in Kitwe, a newly constructed one by three classroom block had its roof blown off after a significant downpour.
If the classroom block is not fixed before the start of the new school year on January 9, it will be impossible to accommodate the students, according to school principal CHARLES KATEBE.
The classroom building was constructed with personal contributions by former NKANA Member of Parliament ALEXANDER CHITEME and opened in April of last year.
Binwell Mpundu, a Nkana member of parliament who visited the site of the roof that was blown off, has warned contractors against performing subpar job.
Mr. MPUNDU expressed his gratitude for the updated CDF’s inclusion of an educational component and expressed his expectation that some of the funds will be allocated for roof repair.
