The guy who killed South African anti-apartheid martyr Chris Hani has been released on parole, according to the justice ministry of South Africa.
South Africans were outraged by the constitutional court’s decision to release Janusz Walus last month.
It was termed as devilish by Mr. Hani’s widow.
In 1993, a gunman shot and killed the highly regarded senior member of the ANC military branch.
The murder represented a failed attempt to halt the transition of the nation from a white minority to democracy.
Mr. Walus was treated in a jail hospital last week after being stabbed by another prisoner.
