A DAY after Christians celebrated Christmas, which they view as the day Jesus Christ was born, a 48-year-old Chambeshi man died after allegedly drinking himself to death.
It is claimed that Sylvester Chitulu overindulged in illegal beer, which ultimately caused his death.
According to Copperbelt commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba, a local farmer who claimed to have found a dead body called the police and reported the incident.
“Mathews Chizezi of Mwambashi in Minsenga farming area -Chambishi , reported having discovered a dead body of Sylvester Chitulu aged 48. The same is suspected to have died after taking excessive illicit beer.The body was inspected and no physical injuries were observed and the body has since been picked by Police and deposited in Chambishi Government Clinic mortuary .No foul play suspected,” he said.
