In order to preserve election integrity, technology must be controlled, according to a warning from the International Federation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
A barrier for legitimate elections, according to IFES President Anthony Banbury, is the transmission of misinformation and disinformation, which is primarily done through technology.
Speaking at a gathering outside of the Lusaka Summit for Democracy, Mr. Banbury emphasized the need for stakeholders to use technology to combat false information and disinformation during elections.
