A key State House official has been fired by Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan just two days after his appointment was announced.
Diwani Athumani Msuya, a former chief of intelligence, was named permanent secretary of the State House on Tuesday.
Mululi Majula Mahendeka, a former State House staffer, took his seat on Thursday.
The modifications were revealed in a statement from the president’s office without any justification.
Former President John Magufuli nominated Mr. Msuya to lead Tanzania Intelligence and Security Services (TISS) in September 2019.
