The vice-president of Christian Atsu’s club, Mustafa zat, informed Turkish radio that the football player had been rescued “with injuries” from the wreckage of a building following the earthquakes in Turkey.

As a result of the earthquakes that have killed at least 4,800 people, Atsu, a player for Hatayspor, was trapped.

The former Ghanaian forward, 31, had time with Chelsea, Everton, and Bournemouth before playing 107 appearances for Newcastle.

Taner Savut, the sporting director for Hatayspor, is still inside the destroyed structure.

Given its proximity to the earthquake’s core, Hatay has sustained significant damage.

Radyo Gol was informed by zat that “Christian Atsu was taken from the wreckage with injuries.”

“Unfortunately, Taner Savut, our director of sport, is still buried in the debris.

Hatay was significantly impacted. The most hazardous time period is about to finish.

After spending a season with the Saudi Arabian team Al-Raed, Atsu, who scored 65 goals for Ghana, signed with Hatayspor in September 2022.

In the last seconds of Hatayspor’s Super Lig game against Kasimpasa on Sunday, he scored the game-winning goal.

“We’ve received some good news that Christian Atsu has been safely rescued from the wreckage of the collapsed building and is undergoing treatment,” the Ghanaian Football Association tweeted. Let’s keep praying for Christian.
