This year, the ABSA Cup sponsorship fund was increased to 4.4 million Kwacha, and the winners’ payout was raised from 650,000 Kwacha to 700,000 Kwacha.
The news was announced by MIZINGA MELU, the managing director of ABSA, at the ABSA Cup 2023 drawings.
The prize money for the top scorer and tournament goalkeeper has also been enhanced, Ms. MELU said, to 25,000 Kwacha apiece.
Red Arrows will play Muza FC, while Green Buffaloes have been paired with Forest Rangers.
Trident will face off against Green Eagles, and Power Dynamos will play Mufulira Wanderers.
And ELVIS NKANDU, the minister of sports, commended ABSA for assisting the government’s efforts to promote sports.
