SABC1’s popular telenovela Uzalo has confirmed the departure of two prominent actors from its cast. Wiseman Mncube, known for his portrayal of Sibonelo, and Nkanyiso Mchunu, who joined the show in 2022 as Siphamandla “Wizard” Nkosi, are set to bid farewell to Uzalo, an announcement that has left fans sad.
Uzalo series producer King David Mukwevho said their departure at the end of this season marks the end of an era. He said they extend their deepest gratitude for the indelible mark they’ve left on the show.
“We’ve had the privilege of witnessing Wiseman Mncube and Nkanyiso Mchunu’s incredible journey on Uzalo.
“Their commitment to their craft, their ability to breathe life into their characters, and the chemistry they brought to the screen have enriched our show in ways words can’t express.
“Saying goodbye is never easy, but we are deeply thankful for the invaluable contributions they’ve made to Uzalo’s success. Wiseman, who has been a part of Uzalo since 2018, will be shifting his focus to Mzansi Magic’s latest telenovela, My Brother’s Keeper, which is scheduled to premiere on Monday, 23 October. Uzalo series producer King David Mukwevho expressed his gratitude to both actors, acknowledging the significant impact they have had on the show.
Mukwevho stated, “We’ve had the privilege of witnessing Wiseman Mncube and Nkanyiso Mchunu’s incredible journey on Uzalo. He further emphasized the difficulty of saying goodbye but expressed deep appreciation for the invaluable contributions made by Wiseman and Nkanyiso to the success of Uzalo. As Uzalo bids farewell to these beloved stars, the show has unveiled new characters who will be joining the cast. Notable additions include former Generation: The Legacy actor Vuyo Dabula, along with Nonhle Jali and Slie Ndlovu.
