Africa instructed to reject deals at leadership summit

African nations attending the United States of America Africa Leadership Summit in Washington, DC, have been urged to use the opportunity of the high-level gathering to seal agreements that will help the continent.

Albert Muchanga, the African Union Commission’s (AUC) commissioner for trade and industry, made this statement before to the gathering, which was attended by African heads of state.

Zambia is one of the few nations that has fully benefited from the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA), a United States of America government initiative that was created to encourage economic development in Africa and has subsequently been extended through the year 2025.

And among the heads of state attending the high-level meeting in Washington, DC, is President Hakainde Hichilema.
