South Africa was not aware of how soft AKA’s life was as he hardly ever showed off his wealth. It is only after his funeral that everyone started knowing about his wealth.

Following the news about his fatal shooting, celebs visited his home in Bryanston, Johannesburg to show support to the family.

Houses in Bryanston located North of Johannesburg cost anything from R4 million upwards.

What has been rather surprising about this is that at the height of his beef with Cassper Nyovest many fans were of the consensus that AKA made way better music compared to his nemesis Cassper Nyovest.

One thing Mufasa was always praised for was his business acumen. During an interview on The Episode on YouTube, the late rapper disagreed with this notion.

In one of his last interviews AKA argued that it is all public perception.

“I think that it’s all about perception. I don’t there should be any debate about how much money we have made.”

AKA revealed that he made many millions from his partnership with Cruz Vodka.

“We have made millions and millions through Cruz Vodka. The. Difference is that I don’t really talk about my business moves that much and the working of it that much because I don’t believe that’s the right thing to do in business – you don’t talk about numbers in public.”

The rapper attributed his relationship with money to his upbringing.

“If that’s how somebody else wants to go about with their business its up to them. But you never going to hear me talking about you, we just did 20 million.”

AKA’s sneaker deal between AKA and Reebok, which birthed the SneAKA infuriated a lot of fans when the deal collapsed.

AKA then went on record to state that he was not paid a single cent for the deal and that saw #ReebokMustFall movement gaining momentum.

After announcing that the deal fell off, he also revealed that he was not compensated/
“Can you believe they didn’t pay me a single cent for this?… not one cent.”

“I had no choice … it was always a dream of mine to have my own sneaker. I guess that’s why I took a shitty deal in exchange for doing something for the culture … Probably never again. They refused to give me any sort of payment or royalty.”

Last year, however, Mega shared a different story. He said that he was actually getting paid R120 000 every month.

“I said I didn’t get a cent from the sneaker, not from the deal. I was paid 120k every month for nearly two years I think … hope that clears it up for you,” he said.
