UD Las Palmas has decided to make a change of direction in the sporting arena. The Canaries’ board has chosen Diego Martinez as the new coach to turn the situation around, as they are currently bottom of the LALIGA EA SPORTS, with only three points from the first nine games played.

Diego Martínez is a coach with plenty of experience in the category, as with him at the controls, we saw one of the best Granada CF in its history, as it reached European competitions and even reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League. Now he faces a different challenge, as the situation is not the same, but the Yellows are confident that he is the right man to get them out of the bad run of results they are going through.

Diego Martínez feels ready to take on the challenge

The Galician coach arrives with enthusiasm and ready to face a big challenge but convinced that they can pull it off. The Galician coach acknowledges that the situation is not good, but the coach explains that, ‘challenges in capital letters attract me, and I think we can turn the situation around, we have the capacity to do so and we believe in what we can become as a team,’ said Martinez at the press conference.

UD Las Palmas have decided to make a change of direction in the sporting arena. The Canaries’ board has chosen Diego Martinez as the new coach to turn the situation around, as they are currently bottom of the LALIGA EA SPORTS, with only three points from the first nine games played.

The former Granada CVF and RCD Espanyol player recognises that the road ahead is going to be tough, as they are currently bottom of the LALIGA EA SPORTS table, but he is confident in the squad and the time that remains to turn the situation around. ‘With 29 games to go there is still time to turn the situation around,’ said the coach, who also said that coaches “are not Nadal or Federer, our objective is to make the most of what we have and with the essence of the club we will try to get the best out of the players”.

According to the Vigo coach, the first objective is to ‘mentally recover’ the players, who are in a terrible run of form and results. ‘There is a lot of talent up front, but we must have better defensive records, look for balance, especially in this situation, but with work and patience we can compete at a good level’, explains Diego Martínez.
