Early pregnancies are a problem for Sesheke

Early pregnancies have increased in Sesheke District, where they currently rank among the highest in Western Province.


According to VIRGINIA SIYUNDA, a Maternal and Child Health Program Officer, there were 28% cases of child pregnancies in the most recent quarter.

According to Ms. SIYUNDA, Sesheke District, a border town, has a large number of youths involved in illegal activities, including those who attend school.

Additionally, Ms. SIYUNDA expressed gratitude to Water Aid Zambia for putting maternity annexes in nearly all of the district’s health centers.
