Free Education Helps To Reduce Early Weddings, Says Chief Nondo

According to Chief Nondo of the Senga Hill District, the government’s introduction of the free education program has assisted in lowering the rate of early marriage in his chiefdom.

According to the Chief, the strategy has enhanced girl child education and significantly decreased early marriages, which had grown to be a serious social and health issue.

In a statement to ZNBC News, he said that giving students desks through CDF had also improved students’ attendance at class.

The Chief claims that in order to ensure that the advancements being achieved in improving girl-child education are perpetuated, he has stepped up his subjects’ awareness-raising efforts.

He has issued a warning to parents and guardians urging them not to marry off their children in order to save money on their education.
