Govt Determined To Protect Women’s Rights

SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE, minister of finance and national planning, declares commitment to defending the rights of women and all socially marginalized groups.

This, according to Dr. MUSOKOTWANE, is demonstrated by the country’s ratification of many international agreements that defend the rights of marginalized groups and women.

This was said in an address delivered on his behalf at a conference for the USAID Revenue for Growth initiative on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, which was opened in Lusaka by acting Permanent Secretary for Budget and Economic Affairs WILLIS CHIPANGO.

While this is going on, Gender Division Permanent Secretary MAINGA KABIKA stated that the government prioritizes the advancement of women and girls through enhancing their ability to shape top-level decision-making.

This was stated in a speech that the planning, information, and documentation division head for gender ANDREA HABWEZA read on her behalf.

According to USAID Chief of Party EDWARD KOOS, the project’s main goal is to assist the government in attempts to boost domestic revenue.
