The government has given the Lusangazi District in the Eastern Province more than 2.3 million Kwacha in Emergency Social Cash Transfer money.
In addition, the district received about 1 million Kwacha in bimonthly Social Cash Transfer payments for the months of November and December 2022.
The development was reported to the ZANIS by RISTONE NJOBVU, the Lusangazi District Social Welfare Officer.
According to Mr. NJOBVU, the SCT program’s vulnerable households would receive the funds.
According to him, the funds are a vertical top-up payment to the monthly social welfare payments that are made to needy households.
He said that 4,321 local recipient households will receive the funds.
