Kelly Khumalo’s grade 9 education level was brought up as SA discussed her vulgar SAMA rant

South African musician Kelly Khumalo lost her temper and went on a full blown X rant after losing a South African Music Award (SAMA) to gospel artist, Ntokozo Mbambo. The singer directed insults at everyone involved in the SAMAs and also social media users who called her out about it. Her behaviour led to hundreds if not thousands of tweets from locals who bashed her for over her “sore loser energy”.

The singer’s level of education has also come into question after an app user revealed that she dropped out of school after passing grade 9.South African songstress Kelly Khumalo shot to the top of X trends after she went on a full blown rant over the weekend.

The star reacted negatively to losing a SAMA award to gospel artist Ntokozo Mbambo.Her rant didn’t do her any favours in winning fans as many turned against her and demanding in various tweets that she apologise for her outburst.

Many of them called her out for disrespecting both Mbambo and SA music fans. In a bid to defend Mbambo, one fan unearthed a 2019 article detailing how Kelly dropped out of school after only completing grade 9.Kelly herself divulged this information to famous podcaster MacG on his show, Podcast and Chill.

According to the singer, she left school to pursue a music career. I went to grade 10 briefly and by March I was out of school,” she told a shocked MacG.

She also added that she was a smart child but just wasn’t keeping up with the others because of a lack of interest. I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t keeping up. I know I’m a smart child but I’m just not happy and I just disappeared,” she said. She also revealed that her mother reacted negatively to the news and shunned her over the decision — something she chose to ignore.
