Popular DJ Mark Pilgrim has been discharged from the hospital after 64 days as he continues his brave battle against cancer. The Hot102.7fm radio DJ took to social media on Thursday to share the good news.
The 53-year-old, who previously worked at 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and Hot919, posted that ‘after 64 days, 7 procedures and losing almost 15kg, he was going home’.
Pilgrim was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed in June had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes.
Pilgrim wrote: “After 64 days, 7 procedures and losing almost 15kg, today… I go home!
“Still have a tube coming out my side and will have a home nurse looking after me as I slowly build my strength, but nothing beats the healing power of being home with loved ones, doggies, the fresh air and garden
