At the majority of Northern Province’s healthcare facilities, scabies cases have been documented.
The sickness was originally detected in Lunte district, which has recorded the highest number of cases, followed by Lupososhi district, according to Northern Province Health Director, ERNEST MUTALE.
According to Dr. MUTALE, the infection is widespread in places with inadequate hygienic conditions.
After visiting the recently opened Katuta Small Hospital in Lupososhi, he made this statement.
The disease outbreak, according to Lupososhi District Commissioner SIMON MWENYA, poses a threat to communities, particularly among school-age children.
Lewis Mwape, the deputy permanent secretary for the northern province, expressed satisfaction that the Katuta Small Hospital is open.
