Raise Cancer Consciousness-masebo

SYLVIA MASEBO, the minister of health, has urged greater understanding of the risk factors for various malignancies.

Sensitization, according to Ms. MASEBO, will encourage people to get screened and seek out medical care.

She claims that improving early diagnosis as a preventative step can help combat the disease and save lives.

The Minister made this comment at the handover ceremony for one of the nine wards that the Air Power Club and ABSA Bank renovated.

SHARMAINE BARRY, patron of the Airpower Women Club, said the club’s choice to renovate an area at the Cancer Disease Hospital and to hang curtains over the 26 beds is one of their charitable endeavors to enhance the surroundings for patients.

Senior Medical Superintendent for Cancer Diseases Hospital KENNEDY LISHIMPI said the hospital has continued to work on a number of projects to make it better and more patient-friendly.
