Due to their violation of party rules and regulations, the UPND in LUSAKA District has suspended two council members from the Kabwata constituency immediately.
This happened after two council members led a group of protesters without following established protocol to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU).
The two have been identified as MAINDA SIMAATA of Kamwala ward 5 and BWALYA CHISHALA of Kabwata ward 6 by UPND Lusaka District Chairperson SAVIOUS NDABA.
According to Mr. NDABA, the UPND does not support members who break the law, particularly elected officials who use their positions to undermine the work of the government, whose policies the party sponsors and supports.
Mr. NDABA further cautioned that in order to uphold order and discipline in accordance with the party’s constitution and disciplinary code of conduct, the party will take serious steps against incompetent officials.
