ZCID Demands Political Party Funding

Article 60 of the Constitution should be changed, according to the Zambia Centre for Inter-Party Dialogue (ZCID), to make it easier for political parties without representatives in the National Assembly to get money.

According to DOREEN NJOBVU, executive director of ZCID, doing this will level the political playing field.

According to Ms. NJOBVU, no political party should be given an unfair advantage.

According to Ms. NJOBVU, ZCID is still accepting contributions from different political parties regarding ideas to revive and modify the 2017 Political Parties’ Bill.

The provisions of Article 60 of the Constitution regarding the regulation of political parties, she said, will be enforced once the Bill is passed.
