ZNS Launches Chongwe Milling Facility

To lower mealie meal prices, the Zambia National Service (ZNS) constructed a milling facility in the Chongwe District.

The mill has already produced more than 4,000 25 kg bags of both breakfast and roller meal, according to defense minister AMBROSE LUFUMA.

The facility, according to Mr. LUFUMA, will NOT sell mealie meal to traders, as the government wants to make sure that households have priority access to inexpensive mealie meal without using middlemen.

Additionally, ZNS Commandeer MALITI SOLOCHI stated that the factory will charge K150 for a 25 kg bag of breakfast meal while charging K120 for roller meal in all of their milling operations.

The amount of bags a family can purchase will be limited, according to Lieutenant General SOLOCHI, to ensure that as many people as possible can take advantage of the Mealie Meal.

He claimed that the Service has plans to build milling facilities in all 10 Provinces to ensure widespread accessibility.
