211 persons arrested in Lusaka for loitering and unruly behavior

Police in Lusaka’s Central Business District have detained 211 persons for disruptive and idle behavior as a result of increased patrols.

There are 17 children and 6 women among the 211 suspects.

According to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, motorized and foot patrols were performed from December 18, 2022, from 22:00 hours, to December 19, 2022, at 4:00 hours.

“211 suspects were captured by police in Lusaka’s Central Business District (CBD) during patrols.

Six female suspects and 17 juveniles are among the 211 people being held in detention on idle and disorderly charges, the official added.

The suspects will shortly appear in court, according to Mr. Mwale.
