In Kalulushi District, the Ministry of Health has set a goal of immunizing 39,000 children under the age of five against polio.
District Health Director Cliff Hara told ZANIS today that the program started on April 20, 2023, and that it will last for four days.
All children who have already had vaccinations must continue receive them during the door-to-door campaign, according to Dr. Hara.
He advised gurdwaras to take the campaign seriously because polio causes paralysis in youngsters under the age of five.
Dr. Hara stated that although Kalulushi District has not reported any cases of polio, vaccinations must be administered.
