The government and a private investor have reached an agreement for the government to start development on the Lusaka Ndola dual highway.

According to Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI, the government is anticipated to approve the start of construction within a week.

However, Mr. MILUPI claims that the government still owes contractors for civil works, routine maintenance, and consulting services approximately 10.3 billion kwacha.

The Minister spoke during his appearance on the Lusaka-based Government Forum Program on ZNBC TV1.

He claimed that in order to address the debt, the administration has held talks with creditor nations and organizations and is considering alternative methods of financing infrastructure, such as Public Private Partnerships (PPPs).

The renovation of the Chingola Chililabombwe Kasumbalesa Road works, according to Mr. MILUPI, has also started.
