A minerals commission is being established by the government to oversee mining operations around the nation.
The panel, according to mines minister PAUL KABUSWE, will give the nation sovereignty over its mining wealth.
Yesterday evening, Mr. KABUSWE stated the commission, whose implementation process is ongoing, will function as a regulator. He was speaking on ZNBC TV’s Sunday Interview program.
And Mr. KABUSWE claimed that Vedanta and the government are currently holding talks outside of court to resolve the difficulties related to the Konkola Copper Mine’s operations and the way forward.
Additionally, Mr. Kabuswe stated that the Transaction Advisor is in discussions with possible investors for Mopani.
