Abandoned SOWETO MARKET Shops

Some vendors in Lusaka’s Soweto market have closed down a number of their shops.

It’s thought that the shops, some of which are unfinished, were abandoned in August of last year.

Some traders claim that the stores have now turned into thief hideouts.

The business owners desire that the local government take back the shops and distribute them to other market vendors.

Area Councillor AARON MWANZA claims that the Lusaka City Council has already been contacted regarding the issue and that the owners have been given a two-week deadline to reclaim the shops.
