According to the Zambia Association for Pure Self Regulation, it would exploit the government’s good intentions to develop a system of self regulation for the media.

No one should strive for statutory regulation, according to association vice president KENNEDY MAMBWE, since President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has made it clear that the government does not wish to regulate the media.

He claims that his organization has developed a self-regulation position paper.

This was spoken by Pastor MAMBWE at a Kitwe media consultation workshop.

COSTA MWANSA, a member of the Association Committee, added that self-regulation is essential for the advancement of Zambia’s journalism industry.
