Bally dismisses Deputy permanent secretary for Luapula province and five district commissioners

Five district commissioners and the deputy permanent secretary of the LUAPULA Province have been dismissed immediately.

This comes after Royd Mwansa, the deputy permanent secretary for Luapula province, was recently accused of participating in the transportation of minerals that were allegedly stolen along with Morton Sikazwe, the district commissioner for Mwansabombwe, and Robert Mutepuka, the commissioner for Nchelenge.

Together with the trio, four other District Commissioners from various regions were also let go.

In a statement, Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa claimed that President Hakainde Hichilema has used his authority to revoke the contracts of seven government employees.

Government wishes to inform the general public that President Hakainde Hichilema, in exercise of the powers vested in him by Article 270 of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia, has with immediate effect terminated the contracts of the following: Mr Royd Mwansa – Deputy Permanent Secretary, Luapula Province Mr Robert M. Mutepuka – District Commissioner, Nchelenge District – Luapula Province, Mr Morton Sikazwe District Commissioner, Mwansabombwe District – Luapula Province , Dr Adam Banda-District Commissioner, Chifunabuli District, Luapula Province, Mr Collins Sichivula District Commissioner, Isoka District – Muchinga Province and Mr Edmond Mumbula District Commissioner, Sioma District – Western Province ,” he said.

He said the President has thanked the former Government officials for the services rendered to the Government.
