Eric Chimese, a former commander of the Zambian Air Force, and James Chungu, a businessman, have been found to have a case to answer in relation to allegations of money laundering.
Since then, the Lusaka Magistrates Court has put them in defense.
Lt Gen Chimese was detained by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) in 2019 for allegedly participating in actions such possessing items that were purportedly the profits of crime.
James Chungu, the director of Chita Lodges Limited, and Chimese were both arrested. Chimese is accused of hiding property, including completely furnished luxury apartments that are thought to be the profits of crime.
