Concerned artist over amateur sculptures

NSOFWA BOWA, a visual artist from Lusaka, is concerned about the rise in the number of artists producing works despite receiving no adequate instruction.

According to Mr. BOWA, most sculptures that are popular on social media do not accurately depict the beauty of creation since the creators lacked the necessary skills.

In addition, Zambia should consider art as a business because of its economic importance, according to visual artist CHANDE KAPUNDE, who created the famous monument of former president KENNETH KAUNDA at the Long Acres Mall.

Since then, Mr. KAPUNDE has urged parents to assist their creatively inclined kids in pursuing careers in the arts.
