A 35-year-old man from Zimbabwe was attacked while driving at night from Nakonde and robbed of various items totaling 51,000 Kwacha by thugs who had barricaded the Great North Road in Mpika with stones.
BRIGHTON RANGARIRAI was attacked yesterday at 00:00 by six persons who had blocked the road at Danger Hill and destroyed his unregistered Nissan Note car, which he had just acquired at Nakonde Border, according to Muchinga Provincial Police Commanding Officer KAUNDA MUBANGA.
According to Mr. KAUNDA, the victim ran away as stones were thrown at the car and the attackers broke the back window and stole numerous belongings.
He said that after some time had passed, the victim was able to return to the scene with the aid of his other companions who had come from Nakonde, but there were items missing from the car.
According to Mr. KAUNDA, police have opened a probe into the situation.
