The Ministry of Tourism has recommended elephant-infested towns to permit the animals to enter protected zones safely.
When elephants are reported in a community, the Ministry advises residents to avoid approaching the animals and exercise particular caution.
Wildlife Police Officers have been sent by the Ministry through the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) to track the movement of the elephants and take appropriate action.
Two fatalities and one injury have been reported in instances of human-elephant conflict in the Southern Province, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
