A 42-YEAR-OLD man from the Mtendere Compound in Lusaka passed away after allegedly being abused by his wife.
It is claimed that the wife, who has only been identified as Mable Banda, beat her husband while out with two other unidentified individuals.
Initial investigations, according to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, showed that the event, which followed a marital argument, happened on January 6, 2023, between 21:00 and 23:00.
“The matter was reported to Police by the sister to the deceased of Kalingalinga compound on January 7, 2023 around 19:30 hours.The deceased was identified as Golden Lunda of unknown house number in Mtendere Compound,” he said.
According to Mr. Mwale, the deceased was reportedly admitted to the Mtendere Clinic for treatment before being moved to the University Teaching Hospitals, where he passed away.
He stated that the suspect is currently being held in police custody and that searches for further accomplices have begun.
