Enhanced Rabies Vaccination of Pets Suggested by Expert

In light of the rise in rabies cases, the Veterinary Association of Zambia says there is a need to scale up the rabies vaccination of dogs.

The vice president of the association, NGONDA SAASA, has noticed that although rabies vaccination services are offered for a cost, many dog owners do not take their pets to be immunized, putting the public’s health at danger.

He claims that rabies is a serious condition that needs to be managed.

According to Dr. SAASA, it’s critical for those who have been bitten by dogs to get medical help as soon as possible because once the symptoms start to worsen, there is no going back.

He continues by saying that in order to tackle the rabies problem, the Veterinary Association of Zambia will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Welfare.
