Farmers in Kazungula receive hives

Kazungula Bee keeping is a business that smallholder farmers are involved in to increase their living standards.

The 19 agricultural camps in Kazungula’s Southern Province each received 10 bee hives for its 190 smallholder farmers, according to Principal Agricultural Officer PAUL NYAMBE.

According to Mr. NYAMBE, the Kazungula smallholder farmers received 1,900 bee hives through the SCRALA (Strengthening Climate Resilience in Agricultural Livelihoods in Agro-ecological Regions I and II) Project.

Additionally, the 13-member Bee Hive Cooperative harvested 112 by 20-liter buckets of honey, according to Kauwe beekeeping mentor ROBSON NAMADULA.
