The Kamwala South neighborhood of Lusaka has seen some flooding, and the Lusaka Fire Brigade has begun pumping away the water.
Children at the impacted homes have not been attending school, according to the locals, who claim that the water has been present for about two weeks.
MULENGA CHILUFYA, a local who was impacted, told ZNBC News that some pit latrines and soak-aways were flooded and that people should not cross the water to get to their homes.
Another resident, REUBEN SAKUMENYA, pleaded with the government to offer a long-term solution due to the problem of recurring floods, which have gotten worse this year.
