In connection with recent reports of theft from motor vehicles, FOUR suspects, including a female, were detained in Chelston.
The suspects include a 24-year-old woman who has been wanted by the police for stealing from cars.
Police also seized a Toyota Mark X with the registration numbers BAX 1502 and NM 94, according to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale.
The Mark X is believed to have been used in more illegal acts, according to Mr. Mwale.
“Following an increase in cases of theft from motor vehicles recorded in Chelston area recently. Police have arrested four suspects including a 24 year-old female who have been on the police wanted list for the same offense.
The suspects, aged between 22 and 28, all from Matero township in Lusaka were apprehended on yesterday around 14:00 hours at Lukundo Liquor Trading Centre in Chelstone area,”said Mr Mwale.
He said investigations have intensified in the matter and the suspects are in police custody
