The lack of a qualified contractor has been blamed by the government for the delays in rehabilitation projects at the National Heroes stadium and the running tracks at the Olympic Youth Development Center.
The delay in construction on both facilities, according to sports minister ELVIS NKANDU, is the result of his office’s hunt for companies that can complete the work to the required standards.
Two contactors have been identified, according to NKANDU, who told ZNBC Sports News that the paperwork is expected to be finished this week.
He has promised Zambians that the construction will be finished on schedule.
Zambia will host the African Junior Athletics Championship in April of next year.
The Heroes Stadium and Olympic Youth Development Center will host the Event.
