HH advocates for Zambian students to get Qatari education scholarships

The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema have discussed ways in which the government may work together so that Zambian students can get educational scholarships.

Education, according to President Hichilema, is the best equalizer and a crucial component of human development, which is why the government has prioritized the right to free education.

The President remarked during a meeting with QFFD Director General Khalifa Jassim Al-Kuwairi that the government recognizes that one way Zambia can leave its Least Developed Countries (LDC) classification is through the development of its human capital.

“We explored ways to partner with QFFD, so that Zambian students that qualify, can receive scholarships to study in Qatar, through initiatives like Education Above All Foundation (EAA),” he said.

The Director General of QFFD, Mr. Khalifa Jassim Al-Kuwari, is responsible for overseeing the State of Qatar’s foreign aid and international development initiatives.

Mr. Al-Kuwari has been in charge of the Qatar Fund for Development’s establishment, strategy-setting, operationalization, collaborations, and funding initiatives in numerous developing nations since 2014.
