Chairperson for Information and Publicity for the Patriotic Front (PF) In a case where he is accused of defaming President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, Chairperson RAPHAEL NAKACINDA has been found to have a case to answer.
Additionally, LUSAKA Resident Magistrate IREEN WASHIMANGA has defended Mr. NAKACINDA.
The start date for the defense in this case has been scheduled for May 10, 2023 by Magistrate WISHIMANGA.
This relates to a case in which Mr. NAKACINDA is charged with defaming President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA by asserting that the President summoned judges to his private residence in January of last year.
According to Mr. NAKACINDA, President HICHILEMA bullied and manipulated the court throughout the period under review to thwart PF’s legal fight over parliamentary petitions submitted following the August 12, 2021 General Election.
The offense was against Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia, which repealed Section 69 of the Penal Code.
