HH urges world leaders to increase assistance to least-developed nations

In order to aid Least Developed Countries (LDC), President Hakainde Hichilema has urged world leaders to step up their efforts.

According to Mr. Hichilema, it is crucial that coordinated measures are put forward to make sure that LCD countries realize their full potential and use it to benefit both themselves and other nations.

President Hichilema stated that Zambia, like other LDC countries, is anxious to guarantee that its potential is unlocked to pave the path for growth during the fifth United Nations Conference on LDC in Doha, Qatar.

“It is important to step up our collective efforts aimed at governing. We need to ensure that we engage all relevant stakeholders who among them are youths, the vulnerable  and the private sector. What are the real issues for us to move from the potential we all have into prosperity? These are genuine and relevant questions. We need to agree on a combination of solutions. It is important for us to recognize that amongst other factors, we need to work in partnership amongst ourselves,” he said.

Mr Hichilema also assured Zambians that 2023 is the year that key issues will be addressed and further encouraged world leaders to work in tandem with one another.
